19-Year-Old Man Kills Wife With Kitchen Knife in Mumbai, Dies by Suicide Attempt

A 19-year-old man allegedly killed his wife with a kitchen knife in South Mumbai’s Agripada before attempting suicide. The husband later died during treatment, while police registered a murder case and ADR.

 

A 19-year-old man allegedly killed his wife by attacking her with a kitchen knife before attempting to take his own life in the Agripada area of South Mumbai early on Friday morning, police said.

The incident took place around 5 am near Kalapani Chowki. The woman and her husband were both 19 years old.

According to the police, the husband was also critically injured after attempting suicide. Both the husband and wife were daily wage labourers, police said.

The 19-year-old man was rushed to Nair Hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

According to police, the incident appears to have stemmed from a domestic dispute.

Agripada Police are registering a murder case in connection with the wife's death, while an accidental death report (ADR) is being registered in connection with the husband’s death.
